We begin with what we believe

The faith we build in

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

These words are the Apostles' Creed, confessed by the church since its first centuries. We also believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the word of God, and the final authority for faith and life.

Our vision

That people from every nation, tribe and language may read, understand, remember and live by the word of God in their own words, with nothing standing in the way.

Our mission

To build free, open tools that help the church translate, read, remember and learn through the Bible, to show our work wherever we make choices, and to give it all away.

What guides the work

  • Faithfulness: Scripture first, and the original languages over any translation.
  • Generosity: free of charge, with no ads and no paywall, and texts anyone may share.
  • Openness: every choice shown with its reasons, and every AI draft labelled.
  • Humility: uncertainty marked, and corrections welcomed.
  • Every language: built for the whole church, not only the readers of English.

These values are worked out in the principles every project is measured against.
